The management and workforce at MPRL E&P Pte Ltd. comprises mainly of Myanmar nationals, many of whom received their academic qualifications from universities overseas. The company firmly believes that its employees are not only a valuable asset to the company, but also key to its success and growth; thus, over the years, the company has adopted a method of employee recruitment which is unique in Myanmar, since it is based not only on qualifications and experience, but also on ethics and attitudes. Annual Personnel Assessments are carried out at the end of every fiscal year, with salary increments, bonuses and promotions for all employees being strictly performance-based.

In addition to compensation by means of salaries and bonuses, MPRL E&P also provides various other benefits for its employees, some of which are work-related clothing and PPE, staff transportation, and, where appropriate, meals and accommodation. The provision by the company of free medical benefits is also seen as an extremely important benefit for employees and their immediate family members, since this alleviates any additional financial stress and worry during times of sickness.

In terms of the career development of employees, MPRL E&P provides ongoing training to ensure that all employees are provided with the requisite level of knowledge and skills to enable them to effectively carry out their roles in support of both the short- and long-term objectives of the company. The skills of the majority of MPRL E&P staff have been developed and honed as a result of their long-term commitment to oil and gas sector operations in Myanmar. Furthermore, in addition to training in technical and soft skills, selected senior employees are regularly sent overseas to attend Society of Petroleum Engineers ( SPE ) Conferences, as well as other technical training seminars, so as to provide them with greater overall international exposure in the oil and gas business.

Although the formulation of annual training programs is essentially based upon the technical and operational requirements of the company, such ongoing training, along with the further education of company employees, are nevertheless regarded as central to its ongoing success. Numerous opportunities are made available for staff members to engage in technical and personal training & development, with many employees having already received sponsorship by the company to study at prestigious universities overseas. MPRL E&P will continue to maintain the skills base and operational excellence of its workforce by providing them with further opportunities to attain advanced educational degrees from various specialized universities, including the Colorado School of Mines, USA.
